“A master’s thesis discussing the Qur’anic inferences of Imam Al-Mawardi in his book Al-Hawi Al-Kabeer”

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohieddin, the Department of Qur’anic Sciences and Islamic Education discussed the master’s thesis entitled (Qur’anic inferences according to Imam Al-Mawardi in his book Al-Hawi Al-Kabir, Chapter on Personal Status and Felonies - A Comparative Jurisprudential Study) by researcher Hadeel Saeed Murshid, dated 2024/ 5/20

 The thesis dealt with the Qur’anic inferences that Imam Al-Mawardi - may God have mercy on him - made on jurisprudential issues in the chapter on personal status and crimes in his book Al-Hawi Al-Kabir, which is considered one of the most important jurisprudential sources in comparative jurisprudence. The author of the book mentioned the auditory and rational evidence on the issues and their study in the jurisprudential schools of thought and linked them to surahs. The Holy Qur’an, and the message concluded that Imam Al-Mawardi - may God have mercy on him - cited as evidence twenty-six verses from different surahs of the Holy Qur’an in the chapter on personal status, and the number of its issues was twenty-three jurisprudential issues distributed over different chapters, and he cited thirteen verses from different surahs of the Holy Qur’an as evidence in the chapter Felonies and the number of issues involved are seventeen jurisprudential issues distributed into different sections.
