A Master's Thesis Discusses the Chaos Caused by the Crusades

Under the patronage and attendance of Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohiuddin, Dean of the College of Education for the Humanities, a master's thesis entitled "The Chaos Caused by the Crusades in the Islamic and Christian Worlds: A Historical Study 490-600 AH / 1096-1204 AD" was discussed in the History Department. The thesis, presented by student Othman Yassin Hilal, was held in the college auditorium on March 17, 2025.

The thesis addressed the topic of chaos, as the study of chaos is an important study with a strategic dimension that links history to the future, especially since the spread of chaos has become one of the weapons used by advanced and developed countries to colonize countries and destroy their civilizations.

This study examines chaos from a historical perspective, as it is considered one of the most prominent causes of the fall of Islamic cities in Palestine and the Levant, most notably Jerusalem, and the subsequent desecration and destruction of those cities. The study also focused on the chaos of Islamic forces and their lack of a unified stance in confronting the Crusader invasion. The study defined the term "chaos" in both language and terminology, and traced the chaos that accompanied the first, second, third, and fourth campaigns. It reached important conclusions in this context.

The discussion committee consisted of the following faculty members:

1. Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Ali, Chairman

2. Assistant Professor Dr. Jumaa Abdullah Yassin, Member

3. Assistant Professor Dr. Elias Ahmed Karim, Member

4. Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Sultan Abbas, Member and Supervisor
