In Celebration of the Noble Prophet’s Birthday
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, Who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth, and made him a mercy to all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon our Master and Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers, and upon his pure family and noble companions.
Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
On the occasion of the Noble Prophet’s Birthday, commemorating the illumination of the Prophetic light throughout the world, it gives me great pleasure to extend my sincere congratulations and warmest wishes to the honorable people of Iraq, to the faculty members, staff, and students of the College of Basic Education, and to the entire Muslim Ummah. I ask Almighty Allah to make this blessed occasion a harbinger of goodness and mercy, and to return it to us and to our beloved homeland with prosperity and blessings; to protect Iraq and its people; to preserve the blessings of security, peace, and stability; and to unite all its people in love, fraternity, and harmony.
The birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his pure family) is not merely an event confined to the pages of history, nor is it a commemoration recalled by hearts for a season and then set aside. Rather, it marks the birth of a message that transformed the course of humanity, restored to human beings their dignity and worth, and established for life a balance founded upon mercy, justice, and morality. In his noble biography, the highest values of humanity are embodied, while his exemplary character remains an enduring school that guides both hearts and minds. As Almighty Allah says:
“And indeed, you are of a great moral character.”
(Qur’an, 68:4)
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his pure family) was a teacher of humanity before he was a leader of a nation. He taught through exemplary conduct before words, through mercy before firmness, and through wisdom before judgment. He instilled in people the principles of truthfulness, trustworthiness, tolerance, and the preservation of human dignity. He also made knowledge a path toward advancement and morality the foundation for building individuals and societies.
Therefore, commemorating his noble birth carries with it a responsibility that extends beyond celebrating the occasion itself. It calls upon us to embody the values he brought and to translate them into conduct and practice in our daily lives, particularly in the field of education, where the prophetic mission is manifested in building human beings, cultivating awareness, and nurturing virtue. A teacher does not merely transmit knowledge; rather, he or she contributes to shaping a personality capable of carrying knowledge with integrity and translating it into morality, responsibility, belonging, and service to society.
On this blessed occasion, we are reminded that the greatest tribute we can offer to the Prophet of Mercy (peace and blessings be upon him and his pure family) is to make his noble life a guiding path in our own lives, his exemplary character a standard for our interactions, his mercy a bridge that brings hearts together, and his call to knowledge and learning an inspiration to continue the journey of building and giving.
We ask Almighty Allah to fill our hearts with love for His Noble Prophet, to grant us the ability to follow his exemplary life and noble character, to make our homeland, Iraq, a land of security and peace, to protect its honorable people, and to guide its sons and daughters toward all that serves the welfare of the country and the good of its people.
May you all be blessed and well. May Allah return this blessed occasion to us with goodness, mercy, and blessings.
