Students of the Department of Special Education (Evening Studies), under the direct supervision of the department administration represented by its Head, Lecturer Dr. Subhan Ajam Abd, launched an awareness initiative in the form of an informational poster entitled “Self-Confidence among Special Education Students.” This topic is considered one of the important educational and psychological issues due to its direct association with students’ adaptation, motivation for learning, and their integration into society.
Self-confidence is defined as an individual’s sense of self-worth and their ability to face different situations, make decisions, and rely on themselves without excessive fear or hesitation.
For students of the Department of Special Education, self-confidence specifically entails:
1- The ability to accept themselves and believe in their capabilities despite challenges or disabilities.
2- Facilitating their social adjustment within and beyond the school environment.
3- Increasing motivation for learning and classroom participation.
5- Reducing anxiety, shyness, and social isolation.
