A Scientific Seminar at the College of Arts on Quranic Orientalism

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Omran Jamal Hassan, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Omer Najm Al-Deen Enjeh, the College of Arts, through the Continuing Education Division, in collaboration with the Department of Quranic and Oriental Studies, organized a scientific seminar titled "A Study on Orientalism."

The seminar featured a lecture delivered by Dr. Rizkar Omar Mohammed, who emphasized that Orientalism has become a phenomenon subject to scientific analysis through various methodological approaches and frameworks. He highlighted the diverse perspectives defining Orientalism, its objectives, and the motivations that shaped its emergence, movement, and evolution.

The seminar aimed to explain the nature of Orientalism, its origins, development, theoretical and methodological foundations, and its significance as a key point in understanding the unique features of its approach to the Quran.
