Awareness Seminar at the College of Arts on the Preventive Approach to Drug Abuse

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Dr. Omran Jamal Hassan, and supervised by the Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Omer Najm Al-Deen Enja, College of Arts/Continuous Education Division, in cooperation with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, the Department of Arabic Language, and the Student Affairs Division, held an educational awareness seminar titled “The Preventive Approach to Drug Abuse” on Monday, October 28, 2024.

The seminar was attended by the University of Kirkuk’s Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Ali Tamim, who commended the College of Arts for its scientific, cultural, and awareness-raising activities in various fields.

The Dean also delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of following scientific methods and establishing strategic plans to prevent the drug epidemic, noting governmental measures taken to treat individuals affected by drug use.

The Head of the Arabic Language Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Koistan Najm Al-Deen Enja, gave a lecture titled “Drugs: Their Concept and Impact on Individuals and Society.”

Additionally, Lecturer Sangar Saber Abdulrahman presented a lecture on “Causes of Drug Abuse, Ways to Treat and Avoid It,” with Lecturer Bilal Shafiq Abdulrahman serving as the session’s rapporteur.
