Master's Thesis Discussion at the College of Arts

On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in the hall of the College of Arts at the University of Kirkuk, a master's thesis discussion was held for student Durgham Habib Saleh Al-Jashaami from the Department of History. His thesis, titled "The Arab-Israeli Armistice Agreements of 1949: A Historical Study," was discussed.

The thesis examined the Arab-Israeli armistice agreements, which were deliberated over several months and concluded in July 1949. The study highlighted the circumstances surrounding the developments in the Palestinian issue, beginning with the issuance of the UN Partition Plan for Palestine on November 29, 1947, up to the signing of the armistice.

The thesis concluded that the agreements were not political truces, meaning they did not represent Arab countries' recognition of the Zionist entity. Rather, they were temporary armistices aimed at stopping the war and restoring peace to Palestine.
