Dean of the College of Arts Participates in Master’s Thesis Defense at Salahaddin University-Erbil

The Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Omer Najmuddin Inja, participated as a member of the defense committee for a Master’s thesis at the College of Islamic Sciences, Salahaddin University-Erbil. The thesis, presented by student Abdul Razzaq Haji Shaaban, was titled: "The Disagreements Between the Two Sheikhs (Ibn Hajar al-Haytami and Shams al-Ramli) through their Commentaries on Al-Nawawi’s Minhaj concerning Acts of Worship: The Book of Zakat as a Model – A Collection and Study."
The thesis aimed to clarify the jurisprudential disagreements between the two prominent scholars in their interpretations of Imam Al-Nawawi’s Minhaj al-Talibin. This foundational text is widely recognized for summarizing the Shafi'i school of jurisprudence, providing authoritative legal opinions (fatwas), employing precise terminology, and maintaining a meticulous thematic organization of Islamic rulings, including purity, prayer, zakat, fasting, and pilgrimage.
On the sidelines of the defense, the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences at Salahaddin University received Prof. Dr. Inja to discuss scientific and academic matters of mutual interest to enhance cooperation between the two colleges.
