College of Arts Holds an Awareness Seminar on the Dangers of Smoking and Its Effects

On February 25, 2025, the Department of History at the College of Arts, University of Kirkuk, organized an awareness seminar for students, staff, and faculty members of the department on the topic of (The Dangers of Smoking, Its Effects, and Prevention Methods).

The seminar, presented by Dr. Kamran Abdul-Razzaq Mahmoud, highlighted the health, psychological, and social harms of smoking on individuals and society. It also discussed ways to address and avoid this phenomenon.

The seminar aimed to explain the importance of taking the first step toward quitting smoking, whether by immediately disposing of cigarettes or gradually, depending on the smoker’s health condition. The seminar also provided a roadmap for smokers to develop an effective plan to quit and regain their health.
