The Dean of the College of Arts at the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Dr. Omer Najm Al_Deen Enja, participated on Saturday, November 30, 2024, in the virtual scientific symposium titled "From Prevention to Recovery: A Comprehensive Perspective on Solutions to Combat Drugs in Arab Communities."
The symposium, in which the dean delivered a speech, highlighted the importance of societal, educational, legislative, health, and technological prevention as tools to combat drugs. These issues have become significant challenges affecting various environments in Arab and other communities.
The symposium also emphasized that many Arab countries, including Iraq, have adopted strategies to combat drugs. The Iraqi government, for instance, has implemented a national strategy to address this issue and designated an awareness week to educate the public about the dangers of these substances. This calls for cooperation among educational, academic, and other institutions to prevent, reduce, and combat the spread of this problem.
