On Monday, November 25, 2024, the Dean of the College of Arts at the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Dr. Omer Najm Al-Deen Enja, participated in the virtual international scientific symposium titled "Breaking Invisible Chains: Confronting the Culture of Silence and Violence Against Women."
The symposium, during which the dean delivered a speech, highlighted the Iraqi government's prioritization of a specific strategy to promote a culture of non-violence against women. This is particularly significant as women, alongside men, participate at all levels, in various roles and professions, with contributions equally important to those of men.
The event also featured a lecture by the Head of the Arabic Language Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Koistan Najm Al-Deen Enja. It emphasized the role of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in mandating universities to organize activities, forums, and seminars to increase awareness and promote a culture of reducing violence against women. This aligns with the emphasis of Islamic law on enacting legislation that safeguards women's rights.
