College of Arts Organizes a Scientific Symposium on Religious and Social Peace

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Omran Jamal Hassan, and supervised by the Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Omer Najm Al-Deen Enja, the College of Arts / Continuing Education Division, in collaboration with the Center for Interfaith Dialogue and Social Peace and the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, held a scientific symposium titled "The Role of the Father in Embodying Religious and Social Peace to Reject Extremism."

In his speech at the symposium, the Dean emphasized the importance of promoting a culture of social peace among various segments of society and enhancing fraternity and peaceful coexistence. He noted that all religions, ethnicities, and sects have suffered from extremism; therefore, concerned institutions should consider this by fostering unity and spreading awareness of peace.

The symposium also featured lectures by Prof. Azad Abdul Wahid Karim and Assistant Lecturer Bilal Shafiq Abdul Rahman, who emphasized the need for educators to assume the role of a father figure for students in guiding them towards proper behavior and rejecting violence.

During the symposium, the Dean presented honorary gifts to Dr. Shaima Abdul Jalil Jamil, Assistant Professor, and Dr. Alaa Jamal Fareek, Lecturer, in recognition of their efforts while heading the Department of Applied Geography and the Department of Media.
