On Monday, October 21, 2024, Prof. Dr. Omer Najm Al-Deen Enja, Dean of the College of Arts at the University of Kirkuk, participated in the international virtual scientific seminar titled "Legal Mechanisms to Protect Women with Breast Cancer from Social Violence."
In his speech, the dean highlighted that breast cancer ranks first among the most common types of cancer locally, regionally, and globally. He emphasized the importance of early detection of the disease, which reduces mortality rates and increases the chances of recovery.
The dean, in the seminar attended by professors and specialists from Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, and Jordan, pointed out that the Cancer Council in Iraq operates under a law enacted in 1986. The council aims to make efforts to protect Iraqi patients by providing a balanced healthy life, as well as offering the best medical services to cancer patients.
