The Department of Applied Geography at the College of Arts - University of Kirkuk held an integrated international scientific symposium on (Monitoring cloud patterns entering Iraq using remote sensing and forecasting techniques) in cooperation with the BRC Scientific and Humanitarian Foundation and with the participation of international professors and researchers.
The symposium aimed to shed light on the impact of the depression on Iraq, know the types of clouds entering Iraq, and monitor the movement of clouds using remote sensing technology.
The symposium included an opening speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Kirkuk University, Professor Dr. Omar Najm al-Din Anjeh, and a speech by Dr. Mithaq al-Bayati, President of the Scientific and Humanitarian BRC Organization.
The symposium also included the first lectures by Dr. Ahmed Abdel Ghafour, Professor at Tikrit University, Faculty of Arts, Geography Department, and the second lecture by Dr. Abdullah Abbas Al-Bakhit, Professor of Natural Geography, Al-Hasahis College of Education / Al-Jazeera University, Sudan, under the title “The Relationship between Clouds and Remote Sensing.”
The symposium was followed by many discussions and interventions, and in conclusion the symposium came up with many recommendations, including paying attention to climate studies and using climate data using remote sensing techniques.
