The Dean of the College of Arts at the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Dr. Omar Najm Al-Deen Enja, participated in the international scientific workshop titled: "Fasting as a Therapeutic Step for Drug, Alcohol, and Smoking Addicts... Physical and Psychological Transformations."

In his speech during the workshop, the dean stated that attempts to quit smoking, drinking alcohol, and using drugs achieve higher success rates when they coincide with the holy month of Ramadan. He emphasized the importance of encouraging individuals to fast as a crucial step in restoring their natural health.

He added that this blessed month, along with the spiritual and faith-driven atmosphere it brings, serves as a starting point to refrain from these harmful habits. He also highlighted the importance of utilizing activities associated with the holy month, such as family visits, regular prayers, and spending free time on productive social activities, which can lead to the creation of a new healthy lifestyle.
