Day of the Letter "Dhad"

Under the support of the esteemed Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Saleh Ahmed Al-Jubouri, and in celebration of the International Day of the Arabic Language (Day of the Letter "Dhad"), the Department of Arabic Language organized a festive. During the event, words and poems that extol the language of the Holy Quran were recited. There were numerous activities and contributions from the professors and students’ department, highlighting the brilliance, beauty, and distinctiveness of the Arabic language among other languages.

The festival was managed by Professor Dr. Amjad Al-Othman, who emphasized that the Arabic tongue is the language of humanity, not limited to Arabs alone but to all who speak it. He also emphasized that Arabic expression has no parallel in other languages. Then, Dr. Saddam Hamu Hamza, the head of the Arabic Language Department, spoke about the enduring nature and steadfastness of the Arabic language. He highlighted that it is a living language that will not succumb to extinction or death, unlike other languages that face endangerment. Arabic is the only language that has preserved its qualities and distinctiveness without change or alteration.

The seminar concluded with poetic recitations by students of the Department of Arabic Language, celebrating their love for the language, its magnificence, beauty, and its splendor among other languages. The words of the renowned poet Ahmed Shawqi rang true: "The one who filled the languages with beauty, made beauty and its secret reside in the letter 'Dhad'."

The seminar was attended by the administrative deputy dean, heads of scientific departments in the college, faculty members, and students of the college.
