A development course (The work of examination committees)

The Continuing Education Division, in cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education at the University of Kirkuk, held a development course entitled (The Work of Examination Committees), which targeted the examination committees for the initial study in the college. The course was lectured by: Prof. Walid Abdullah Ismail, Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs and Dr. Nabil Shaheen Muhammad, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs.
The course, which lasted for three days, included the role of examination committees, which includes circulating examination questions, securing them, and maintaining the confidentiality of their printing, withdrawal, and archiving, as well as grades and fixing them on examination books, basic records, and details of examination results. The course showed the importance of what hall supervisors do by clarifying examination instructions to students and highlighting their identity. The student, absences, the presence of hall supervisors and monitors before the start and end of the exam, checking the student’s full name, and a number of other topics.
The course aims to control the work mechanisms of examination committees, how to distribute grades, calculate graduation rates, and cases of calculating years of failure and postponement included in Examination Instructions No. (134) of 2000 issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The administration of examinations and monitoring, dealing with fraud cases, and the correction mechanism were also varied. Examination books and the mechanism for objecting to examination results. The session included several interventions from the attendees, and many matters related to the work of these committees were discussed.

In the presence and participation of members of the examination committees for all departments and all new recruits who hold higher degrees, the number of participants reached (eighty-eight) participants.
In conclusion, the attendees praised the efforts made by both the scientific and administrative assistants in this valuable session, indicating the extent of their benefit from it.
