In the presence of the Assistant President of the University of Kirkuk, Professor Dr. Ahmed Abd Ibrahim and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Neama Ali Ahmed and with the follow-up of the heads of departments and the Division of postgraduate Studies, the comprehensive oral exam for graduate/doctoral students in the departments of the College of Science took place on Thursday, February 15, 2024. Scientific committees were formed from the department’s professors, with the participation of an elite group of Iraqi university professors, according to each student’s subject specialization, to ensure scientific sobriety, exchange of ideas and reaching the maximum scientific benefit. 11 students participated in the exam: (6) students from the Biology Department, (4) students from the Chemistry Department, and one student from the Applied Geology Department. The research plans submitted by the supervisors and students were discussed, and the students’ final projects were approved.
The Dean explained that the exams were conducted smoothly and according to the conditions and requirements of the oral exam approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the University Presidency. The Dean presented a letter of thanks and gratitude to the external committee members for their active participation.
It is worth noting that the students took the comprehensive written exam on 1/31/2024, and that the comprehensive written and oral exam is considered one of the requirements for doctoral students to move to the research stage
