About the Department

The Department of Life Sciences was established in the academic year 2004 - 2005 as one of the departments of the Faculty of Science, University of Kirkuk with an integrated teaching staff from a scientific point of view, where two morning and evening studies were opened and 30 students were accepted in the morning study and 170 students in the evening study The first batch was graduated in the academic year 2007 - 2008 from both studies and will be, God willing, the graduation of the fifteenth session and postgraduate studies (Masters) were opened in the academic year 2010 - 2011 with specialization Life Sciences As well as the study (PhD) was opened in the academic year 2021-2022 with the specialization of Life Sciences

Objectives of the Department

Preparing a staff specialized in some biological materials according to the needs of the university and the community
Developing scientific research at the university.
Preparing the teaching staff at the university.
Providing higher education institutions and state departments with holders of primary and higher degrees.
Developing scientific and technical capabilities in educational laboratories and providing all their requirements.
Providing private laboratories for scientific research equipped with scientific capabilities to provide the opportunity for teaching staff to develop their capabilities.
Provide the opportunity for teaching staff to complete their postgraduate studies inside and outside Iraq.
Providing opportunities for fellowships and scientific missions to various countries of the world.
Work on the publication of scientific and qualitative articles and publications in line with the wheel of information development in the world Holding specialized scientific conferences
