Vision, Mission, and Objectives of the Physics Department

The Physics Department was established in 2005, and the first batch (26 male and female students) graduated in the academic year (2008-2009). Since its establishment, the department has been working to develop the capabilities and potential of its staff, including teaching, technical, and administrative personnel, building laboratories and equipping them with the latest scientific devices, following a modern curriculum, and adopting modern methods in teaching, acquiring, and delivering information. This ensures the graduate is well-versed in the science, knowledge, experience, and skills necessary to contribute to building society.

Excellence in education and scientific research in physics and its applications, and strengthening community partnership, in addition to providing the best forms of university education in physics, training students, and developing their scientific and practical skills and abilities in localizing modern technologies in the fields of education and scientific research to keep pace with modern developments in science and technology and contribute to providing appropriate solutions to the challenges of society and the environment.

2- Our Mission

Providing advanced academic programs that comply with international standards and meet the requirements of the labor market, conducting distinguished scientific research that contributes to community service, and preparing and qualifying human competencies capable of performing their duties within an attractive and stimulating environment. These graduates will be able to compete and effectively contribute to meeting the needs of the development plans for our beloved country, Iraq.

• Teaching general and specialized courses in various branches of physics.
• Contributing to the development of distinguished scientific research.
• Developing students' skills to address problems using a scientific approach based on the principles of investigation, analysis, and deducing objective solutions to the presented problems.
• Developing the spirit of scientific research among students and encouraging innovation.
• Preparing scientifically qualified cadres to meet the needs of the labor market in both public and private sectors.
• Preparing students adequately to motivate them to continue their studies in postgraduate programs at various universities inside and outside Iraq.
• Providing studies and research related to physics.
• Supporting development programs and plans in our beloved country, Iraq, to solve the scientific and industrial problems it faces.
• Forming an integrated scientific system to practice scientific research within the framework of joint cooperation between the department and corresponding departments locally and globally.
