English Key Defense Regulations
According to the latest instructions and directives
PhD Defense Committee
- The committee consists of 5 members.
- At least one of them with the rank of Professor.
- The rest of the members with the rank of Assistant Professor or higher.
- One or more members may be from outside the university.
Master's Defense Committee
- The committee consists of 3-4 members.
- They must be of the exact specialization.
- One of the members may be from outside the university.
Important Note Regarding the Supervisor: The supervisor participates in the scientific defense, but does not participate in grading.
Pre-Defense Requirements
- Scientific Research Publication: Publication grades have been updated for admitted students (2025-2026):
- For Master's: 25 marks
- For PhD: 30 marks - Research Validity: Submit a validity report from the supervisors + a report from the department head.
- Electronic Plagiarism: Adherence to the plagiarism limits specified by the ministry.
Defense Procedures
- Public Defense: The defense shall be open and attended by the public.
- Presentation: The student is obligated to present a focused research summary.
- Scientific Discussion: Focus on the results reached by the researcher.
- Modifications: The student is granted a deadline to make the modifications required by the committee before final approval.
