College of Education for Pure Sciences Organizes an Awareness Workshop in Cooperation with Kirkuk Health Directorate / First Kirkuk Sector
The College of Education for Pure Sciences, in cooperation with the Kirkuk Health Directorate, organized an awareness workshop aimed at raising health awareness about thalassemia.
The workshop included a simplified explanation of the nature of thalassemia, its causes, modes of transmission, as well as its main symptoms and related health complications. It also highlighted the importance of conducting medical examinations before marriage as an effective means of reducing the spread of genetic diseases.
The workshop emphasized the vital role of community awareness in encouraging those preparing for marriage to undergo early testing, in order to safeguard family and community health and to limit the transmission of hereditary diseases to future generations.
Organizers pointed out that such workshops aim to integrate the scientific aspect with practical awareness in serving the community, and to promote health culture among individuals, particularly regarding hereditary diseases that can be prevented through early medical measures.
