College of Education for Pure Sciences Holds an Awareness Seminar on “Reducing Drug Abuse Among Youth”
The Continuing Education Division at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, in cooperation with the University Psychological Counseling Division and in partnership with the Kirkuk Directorate of Drug Control / Relations and Media Division, organized an awareness seminar entitled “Reducing Drug Abuse Among Youth.” This seminar was part of joint efforts to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs and to promote positive behaviors among young people.
The seminar was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Saja Sami Nassif and Mr. Shwan Najat Mohammed, who discussed the social and psychological factors that drive youth toward drug abuse, in addition to explaining the health and legal consequences associated with this phenomenon.
The seminar also included a discussion on preventive measures and the necessity of joint efforts between educational institutions, security agencies, and society to curb the spread of this serious issue. The speakers emphasized the importance of continuous awareness programs and the role of families in monitoring and guiding their children toward positive behavior.
