Department of Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry was established at the College of Education for Pure Sciences in the academic year 2014-2015, and the number of students accepted in that year was 80 male and female students.
1- The nature of study in the department: The Chemistry Department follows the annual system of study, not the semester system.
2- The degree granted by the department: Bachelor’s degree. It is hoped that graduate studies will be introduced during the next two years so that the department will grant a master’s degree.
3- Graduate job opportunities: A graduate of the Chemistry Department of the College of Education is qualified to work as a chemistry teacher in secondary schools.
Message
1- Facilitating higher education and ensuring that it is provided with high quality and appropriate mastery, which leads to the growth of personal knowledge and the fulfillment of work requirements.
2- Providing various scientific programs specialized in information and skills to graduate students who have the ability to work as chemistry teachers at the secondary level.
Vision
1- Disseminating the scientific rules and principles of chemistry and providing the opportunity for students of the specialized department to study the various science titles (organic, life, inorganic, physical, analytical, and industrial chemistry).
2- Future vision: That the department develops into an independent college.
Objectives
1- Preparing human cadres with knowledge and experience in chemistry to be able to carry out teaching tasks.
2- Providing the opportunity for distinguished students to pursue postgraduate studies.
3- Providing the opportunity for academic staff to participate in scientific conferences outside Iraq
