Petroleum Engineering Department Council Meeting Chaired by the Dean of the College of Engineering

Prof. Dr. Jeleng Akram Omar, Dean of the College of Engineering, met with the teaching staff of the Department of Petroleum Engineering in the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Adnan Ajam Abdul, Head of the Department.

The meeting discussed several important issues, as the Dean stressed the need to submit exam questions in three copies attached to the model answers, and to complete the requirements of the Bologna process to ensure the approval of the formative assessment scores for the academic subjects. The preparations for joint exams between the University of Kirkuk and Al-Kitab University were also discussed, in accordance with the directives of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority, with emphasis on the need for faculty members to commit to attendance during the exam period and not to grant leave during it.

The meeting also discussed the importance of enhancing scientific publishing, and urging faculty members to publish their research in reputable scientific journals, in addition to contributing to publishing in the newly established College of Engineering Journal.
The meeting also discussed preparations for holding a scientific and cultural festival within the College of Engineering, and preparing for an international scientific conference in cooperation with Al-Kitab University, Al-Noor University College, and one of the Turkish universities.
During the meeting, the Dean listened to the opinions and suggestions of the teaching staff regarding the examination and correction mechanisms, and the possibility of organizing scientific workshops aimed at developing scientific research skills and enhancing academic production. In conclusion, the Dean stressed the importance of concerted efforts and working in a team spirit to achieve the academic and scientific goals of the Petroleum Engineering Department, stressing the need to adhere to the plans set to ensure the successful progress of work and raise the level of scientific and administrative performance in the college.
