Under the patronage of the President of Kirkuk University, Prof. Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Jalnak Akram Omar.
The College of Engineering at Kirkuk University held an educational seminar entitled “The Mechanism of the Work of Private Banks and How to Protect Accounts in the Master Card”
This seminar was organized by the Continuing Education Division in cooperation with the Educational Guidance and Women’s Affairs Unit, and a number of lecturers participated in it, including M.M. Baraa Thaer Kamel, and Mr. Sarmed Taha Ibrahim from the College of Engineering, in addition to Mr. Mustafa Munir Saloum and Mr. Mu’ayyad Khader Abbas from the Iraqi Investment Bank.
The seminar addressed several main axes that focused on:
1. How private banks work in Iraq was explained, and the difference between them and government banks, with an explanation of their role in supporting the local economy and providing various services to the public.
2. A detailed explanation was provided about the Master Card and its uses, and how to enhance security when using it in financial transactions. Special emphasis was placed on the methods used to protect bank accounts from fraud and electronic hacking, in light of the increasing security challenges.
3. The lecturers discussed the challenges that users face when dealing with banks, especially in light of the development of financial technology, and how individuals can protect themselves from potential risks.
The seminar was held on Monday 10/21/2024 at 10:00 am, in the Graduate Students Discussion Hall - College of Engineering, second floor. The seminar addressed important topics about the mechanism of work of private banks and methods of protecting bank accounts using the MasterCard, with practical examples and useful guidelines for the attendees.
It is worth noting that the seminar was open to all, and mainly targeted students of the College of Engineering and those interested in the field of banking and protecting financial accounts.
