College of Engineering Council meeting

The Council of the College of Engineering at the University of Kirkuk held its fourth meeting of the twenty-second open session, headed by Professor Dr. Jelnik Akram Omar, Dean of the College, and in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, the heads of scientific departments, the Secretary of the Council, and a number of rapporteurs of the scientific departments and members of committees in the College.
The meeting included discussion of many important topics, including ministerial directives and the university presidency related to paying attention to the scientific aspects and their integrity, especially with regard to the quality of writing scientific research and encouraging their publication in international journals, as well as issues related to the affairs of teachers and employees, joining efforts and focusing on the academic aspect and facilitating the affairs of... employees, spreading the culture of teaching and learning among members and students, and evaluating the educational process. The promotion transactions referred by the Scientific Committee and the Promotions Unit for two teachers from the Civil Engineering Department were discussed, in addition to nominating and confirming the names of external examiners in the departments that contain postgraduate studies (Civil and Mechanical Engineering Departments).
The Council also directed the examination committees to complete the final examination requirements, including results, download grades, ink the master sheet, announce the results as quickly as possible, especially for the final stage after the end of the examinations, and prepare for the second round examinations and try not to conflict with the final examinations for the preparatory stage that will be held at the university and college.
The Council also discussed the university president’s directives urging faculty and staff to adhere to the legal context in all administrative procedures, and urging faculty to publish scientific research annually in recognized scientific journals, whether Iraqi, Arab or international, and to avoid predatory journals with the aim of raising the scientific level of the university and college.
