Arabic department was established in 2002, the study system is annual since its establishment up to now. The number of teaching cadre is 24.
-Period of undergraduate study is (4) years.
-Higher studies (MA)" literature " was begun in 2012-2013.
-Higher studies (MA) "language" was begun in 2016-2017.
-Higher studies (PhD) "literature" was begun in 2017-2018.

Objectives
1-Getting students acquainted with the Arabic language in its two branches: language and literature. In language, students study the different levels of language (Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Semantics). In literature, they study all periods of literature (Pre-Islamic literature, Islamic literature, Abbasid and Andalusian Literature, Late Periods literature, and Modern literature). As language is avital tool in the emergence of nations, it is the cooperating factor between the members of the society, and the link that melts its offspring in a bowl of love, meeting and understanding, as by language alone the individual mixes in the society.
2- Getting students acquainted with the Arabic heritage, as language is the thesaurus of the heritage and its bridge to cross from past to present, and then from present to future. By so doing, students can benefit from the nation's intellectual, emotional, ethical and social heritage descending from the innate disposition of the scientists, writers, and thinkers.
3- Introducing student to all that is new in the realm of language by getting them acquainted with the modern linguistic, literary, and critical schools, and the methods adopted by these schools in tackling and interpreting any linguistic phenomenon that matches the latest developments in these schools.
4- Introducing students to the educational lessons by getting them acquainted with the realms of education, as the main aim of education is to build individuals able to do unprecedented things, having creativity and innovation. Moreover, students should be introduced to the fields of psychology, as the aim behind such study is to make students be cognizant of the psychological and behavioral sides of their pupils whom they will teach in the future. Added to that, students should be aware of the modern trends in the fields of methodology, so that they will be able to apply the best and the most successful methods in the future.
5-Advancememt of the status of the Arabic language, and making it able to present and progress and confront obstacles, in a way that serves its unendangerment, since it is the language of the holy Quran.
