Academic Description of the Department
The Kurdish Language Department program at our college seeks to provide a distinguished educational and research environment dedicated to the study of the Kurdish language and its literature throughout the ages, and to developing the linguistic and literary skills of students. The academic description of the department focuses on enabling students to master grammar, analyze literary texts, and understand linguistic development in the fields of Kurdish Literature, Linguistics, and Teaching Methods. This qualifies graduates to work competently in the education, translation, proofreading, and media sectors, with a spirit that takes pride in cultural identity and keeps pace with continuous cognitive development.

First Stage
Includes foundational courses in the Kurdish language, focusing on the principles of grammar and dictation, an introduction to Kurdish literature, and conversation and expression skills to build a solid linguistic base.
Second Stage
Expanding on the study of Kurdish language rules (syntax and morphology), classical Kurdish poetry, and folk literature, in addition to basic educational courses.
Third Stage
Focuses on phonetics, modern Kurdish literature, prose, and literary criticism, alongside the launch of field observation programs to prepare students educationally for teaching.
Fourth Stage
The stage of in-depth specialization in philology, comparative literature, and teaching methods of the Kurdish language, in addition to practical field application in schools and the completion of academic graduation researches.
