About the Department

The department was established in (2004 AD / 1424 AH) to provide students with Quranic sciences and Islamic education materials and to equip them with the necessary skills for effective teaching after graduation. In addition, it prepares them in the fields of specialization required at the secondary education level in our schools. These prescribed study materials represent approximately (70%) of the total curriculum for the four stages in the Quranic sciences departments of colleges of education, in accordance with the nature of the goals of these colleges. The department adopts the project of teaching Islamic education materials to create a constructive generation that protects religion and preserves concepts in reality, in order to build a society that thrives in prosperity and civilization through an integrated scientific model.

Strategic Vision

Quranic sciences and Islamic education materials are vital in enabling students of the College of Education to teach effectively after graduation, in addition to preparing them for the specializations required by the current stage in secondary classrooms. These study materials constitute approximately (70%) of the total prescribed curriculum for the four stages in colleges of education, according to the nature of the goals of these colleges, with two subjects in each stage of university study as approved by the Committee of Deans of Colleges of Education for the Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education.

Department Mission

The Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education in the College of Education is a primary source for preparing cadres to perform teaching tasks in those subjects to cover lectures in schools, as well as research units and centers required by the needs of the university and other local community institutions. This specialization is utilized in areas that suit its nature, such as media, teaching methods centers, counseling and guidance units, courts, orphanages, adult reform centers, and relevant civil society organizations.
