Under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohieddin, the Continuing Education Division organized on 2/5/2024 a scientific symposium entitled “Titles of academic dissertations and dissertations: selection, registration, and obstacles.” It was delivered by Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman Muhammad Mahmoud and Eng. Israa Antar Wadi, with the aim of highlighting the challenges facing graduate studies in the department and discussing ways to develop it.
The symposium witnessed wide participation from faculty members and students, as many topics related to the analysis of current conditions and challenges facing graduate studies in the department were presented and discussed.
The symposium covered various topics, including proposed titles for master’s and doctoral dissertations. Examples and studies were presented showing how to write effective titles that stimulate reading, as well as the challenges related to preparing and evaluating selections and registration, and the obstacles that graduate students may face in their academic career. The two lecturers stressed the importance of this information in determining Weaknesses and strengths in the educational process and developing appropriate plans and strategies to face the future. On the other hand, the symposium witnessed an open and active discussion for the attendees, which led to the exchange of opinions and ideas in a constructive and effective manner, and the presentation of practical suggestions and solutions by the lecturers. In conclusion, the Dean pointed out the importance of choosing Appropriate titles to reflect the essence of the topic and attract the reader’s attention. He also pointed out that the title is a gateway to communication with the reader and contributes to highlighting the importance of scientific research. He emphasized activating the role of dialogue and continuous communication to build a fruitful and advanced scientific environment.
