The College of Education for Humanities Celebrates International Women's Day

Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohiuddin, Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, and as part of its efforts to support and empower women, the Women's Empowerment Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Division and the Human Rights Unit, organized a scientific symposium and honoring ceremony on the occasion of International Women's Day. The symposium was titled "The Status of Women in Iraqi Society." The symposium was attended by a group of prominent academics and women figures. The ceremony opened with a powerful and eloquent speech from the Dean, who emphasized the essential role women play in building societies and their contributions to Iraq's renaissance throughout the ages. He pointed out that women have never been on the margins of civilization, but have been at its heart, shaping glory and establishing a brighter future for future generations. The scientific symposium featured extensive discussions on women's contributions to development. A group of female academics delivered valuable lectures covering various topics, from the impact of women in shaping the social fabric and their influence in enhancing family and societal stability, to women's contributions in the fields of work and education, their role in preparing generations and developing intellectual skills, to the importance of women in development. Sustainable development and its role in the economic, cultural, and social fields. At the conclusion of the event, distinguished women who have made a clear impact in various fields were honored. Appreciation shields were distributed in recognition of their efforts and dedication, an initiative aimed at encouraging further progress and creativity among Iraqi women.

The ceremony concluded with words of thanks and praise for this event, which highlighted the status of women and their pivotal role in society. Attendees praised the importance of these initiatives, which raise awareness and affirm that Iraqi women have been and will remain a symbol of steadfastness, progress, and creativity.
