The Efforts of Professor Dr. Ali Shaker Ali in Writing the History of Iraq

A scientific research was recently published by Professor Dr. Taher Yousef Al-Waili, from the University of Kufa, College of Arts, in which he discusses the efforts of Dr. Ali Shaker Ali, a lecturer at the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Kirkuk, in writing the history of Iraq during the Ottoman era. Dr. Ali Shaker Ali is one of the most prominent historians of the second generation of Iraqi academics who contributed effectively to documenting this important history, which is also known for its modern history. The research reviews the biography of Dr. Ali Shaker Ali, in addition to the scientific efforts he made in studying the history of Iraq during the Ottoman period, and sheds light on his studies for master's and doctorate degrees, as well as a group of scientific research he completed, which are an extension of those studies. The research also highlights the vital role played by Dr. Ali in teaching and supervising graduate students, which contributes to enhancing academic knowledge in this field. The research is an important reference for researchers and those interested in studying the history of Iraq during the Ottoman era, and emphasizes the importance of the efforts made by Dr. Ali Shaker Ali in establishing this academic field. For this work, His Excellency the Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences stated Humanity Professor Dr. Farhad Aziz Mohiuddin Professor Dr. Taher Youssef Al-Waili contributed to shedding light on the legacy of Iraqi academics from the teaching staff of the College of Education for Humanities and their role in writing the history of their country, which is an incentive for researchers and students to continue the journey in this important scientific field.
