The Head of the History Department at the College of Basic Education, Asst. Prof. Dr. Amid Asad Omar, participated in the defense of a master's thesis in the History Department at the College of Education for Human Sciences, titled "The Prisoners of the Polytheists of Quraish in the Battle of Badr and Their Role in the Islamic Call Until the End of the Rashidun Era," prepared by the student, Sakhir Ali Aziz.
The thesis provided a detailed study of the role of the prisoners of the polytheists of Quraish who were captured in the Battle of Badr, and their political, military, and religious influence during the era of the Prophet's mission and the Rashidun Caliphate. It also reviewed the historical treatment of prisoners, comparing it to the Islamic approach, in addition to studying their conditions and positions before and after the Prophet's migration and the role of those who converted to Islam in spreading the Islamic call.
