
With the grace and blessings of Almighty Allah, the Committee of Deans of the Colleges of Basic Education at Iraqi Universities held its Third Periodic Meeting for the year 2026 on the morning of Thursday, 9 July 2026, hosted by the College of Basic Education, University of Mosul.
The meeting was attended by the President of the University, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmood Al-Ibrahimi, who warmly welcomed the participants and delivered an introductory address highlighting the University's academic achievements and the role of the College of Basic Education. He also expressed his appreciation to the Committee of Deans for selecting Nineveh Governorate as the venue for this important academic gathering. The participants were received with exceptional hospitality and generous support by the Dean of the College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Younis Al-Juraisi, together with his administrative team.
The meeting was inaugurated by the Chairman of the Committee of Deans and Dean of the College of Basic Education at Al-Mustansiriyah University, Professor Dr. Qusai Abdul Abbas Al-Abyadh, in accordance with the approved agenda. The session was efficiently coordinated by the Committee Rapporteur, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Awwad Al-Zubaidi, who ensured the effective management of discussions through comprehensive presentations, constructive dialogue, organized deliberations, and well-formulated recommendations.
Commenting on the meeting, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Ali, Dean of the College of Basic Education at the University of Kirkuk, stated that the discussions addressed a number of important academic and educational issues related to undergraduate and postgraduate studies within the Colleges of Basic Education. The participants exchanged views on a range of topics and adopted appropriate decisions aimed at supporting and enhancing the educational process.
The meeting was further distinguished by constructive discussions, insightful interventions, and practical proposals designed to advance the performance of the Colleges of Basic Education in line with international academic standards. In addition, several official communications received from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research were reviewed, alongside proposals submitted by the Chair and members of the Committee. The meeting concluded with a set of recommendations and proposals that will be submitted to the Ministry for further consideration and approval.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Chair and members of the Committee of Deans expressed their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the University of Mosul and the College of Basic Education for their excellent organization, warm hospitality, and outstanding efforts in ensuring the success of this important ministerial meeting.
