
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kirkuk, Professor Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Basic Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Ali, the Division of Continuing Education, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit, organized a scientific seminar entitled “Raising Awareness Among Girls on the Concept of UN Resolution (1325) and Mechanisms for Achieving Its Objectives,” delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Sukaina Ali Karim.
The seminar was launched from the importance of enhancing the role of women in peacebuilding and strengthening societal security, as well as promoting legal and cognitive awareness among girls. It highlights one of the most prominent international resolutions concerning women, namely United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325, which constitutes a cornerstone in supporting women’s participation in peace processes and decision-making.
The seminar also aimed to introduce participants to the concept of Resolution 1325 and its main pillars, which include the protection of women’s rights during times of conflict, ensuring their effective participation in peacebuilding processes, preventing gender-based violence, and strengthening the role of women in reconstruction and sustainable development.
