
The College of Basic Education at the University of Kirkuk received this morning the ministerial committee assigned to study the requirements for establishing the Departments of Special Education and Art Education, as part of the college’s ongoing efforts to expand its academic programs and strengthen its mission of serving the community.
The committee included a group of experts and specialists in the fields of educational and artistic sciences. A broad meeting was held with the Dean of the College, members of the College Council, and a number of relevant faculty members to discuss the mechanisms and requirements for establishing the two departments.

The committee also conducted a field tour of the classrooms, scientific laboratories, art workshops, and activity halls, in addition to reviewing the infrastructure and available resources. They listened to a detailed presentation from the Dean regarding the college’s plans to prepare qualified teaching staff and provide the necessary training and educational requirements for students in both specializations.
The ministerial committee affirmed that the establishment of the Departments of Special Education and Art Education represents a qualitative addition to the college, given their vital role in meeting the needs of the labor market, supporting students with special needs, and fostering and refining students’ artistic talents in line with the requirements of modern educational practices.


For his part, the Dean of the College expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and to the members of the ministerial committee for their continuous efforts and support, stressing that the college is determined to move forward with its plans to develop its academic departments and introduce new specializations that enhance its academic standing and meet the aspirations of its students.
