Dean of the College of Arts Participates in an International Seminar on Empowering Women with Disabilities in the Workplace

The Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Omar Najmuddin Inja, participated in the international scientific seminar titled: "Towards Inclusive Justice: Empowering Women with Disabilities in Workspaces and Institutional Transformation."

During the seminar, which featured the participation of academics from various countries, the Dean delivered a speech emphasizing that empowering women with disabilities in the workplace is an inherent right. He stated that this requires comprehensive integration, the provision of accessible work environments, and specialized training programs to enhance their financial independence and leadership potential.

The Dean further explained that this empowerment is achieved by providing assistive technologies, facilitating transportation, and implementing gender balance policies, which transforms their empowerment from a mere choice into a necessity for driving economic development. He pointed out that the most vital strategies for empowering women with disabilities include qualitative rehabilitation and training, offering professional programs to increase vocational readiness, securing sustainable job opportunities, and ensuring a stable income to achieve self-reliance and individual empowerment.

He also noted that Iraqi laws emphasize the implementation of these paths, aiming to achieve justice in empowering women with disabilities in workspaces by providing appropriate legislation and ensuring its practical application on the ground.
