The College of Arts at the University of Kirkuk celebrated Sovereignty Day in the presence of the Dean of the College, his deputies, faculty members, and students.
In his address, the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Omar Najmuddin Inja, noted that Sovereignty Day does not merely represent a calendar milestone or a measure tied to the withdrawal of foreign forces; rather, it embodies a new chapter in the journey of the Iraqi state—one defined by strengthening independent national decision-making, consolidating the authority of constitutional institutions, and building international relations based on mutual respect and shared interests.
On this occasion, speeches and poems were also delivered by faculty members and students celebrating the day. They emphasized that attaining Sovereignty Day was the culmination of a progressive path of planning, hard work, and governmental efforts within a national vision aimed at bolstering national sovereignty, expanding international partnerships, and reinforcing the capacity of Iraq’s military and security institutions to fulfill their duties in safeguarding the nation's security and stability.
