The College of Arts Holds a Training Workshop on Human Rights

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Dr. Omran Jamal Hassan, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Omer Najm Al_Deen Enja, the Continuing Education Division at the College of Arts, in collaboration with the Kirkuk Office of the High Commission for Human Rights and the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, organized a training workshop titled "The Role of International Organizations and Their Response to Protecting Human Rights" on Monday, December 9, 2024, in celebration of International Human Rights Day.

The workshop featured lectures delivered by Prof. Dr. Salah Aribi Abbas and Dr. Surood Mahmoud Shakir, discussing the United Nations Security Council resolution on women’s rights, peace, and security as a model. Additionally, it explored policies to be adopted in this context.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness about mechanisms for protecting human rights and to learn from the advanced experiences of other countries in this field, with the goal of implementing them effectively in our societies.
