Discussion of the first master’s thesis at the College of Arts, Kirkuk University

This morning, Monday, September 4, 2023, the Faculty of Arts at Kirkuk University hosted the first public discussion by student Ammar Habib Samin, in the History Department, about his thesis titled (Kirkuk-Ceyhan Pipeline (1977-2003 AD), and its impact on the recovery of economic life in Turkey). This was in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Dr. Omar Najm Al-Din Anja
The Assistant President of Kirkuk University for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Ahmed Abd Ibrahim, and a number of college professors.
The discussion was held at nine o'clock in the morning in the College of Arts hall, where the discussion committee consisted of distinguished faculty members, namely:
1. A. Dr.. Khalil Ali Murad (Chairman).
2. A. Dr.. Adeeb Saleh Abd (member).
3. A. Dr.. Salah Oraibi Abbas (member).
4A. Dr.. Dilshad Omar Abdel Aziz (member and supervisor).
The letter highlighted the importance of the oil pipeline that extends from the Kirkuk fields in Iraq to the port of Ceyhan in Turkey, and how the line affected the strengthening of economic relations between Iraq and Turkey.
The message also addressed the impact of the line in supporting the Turkish economy through revenues and fees generated through the transit of Iraqi oil. The message also pointed out the importance of the line and how it helped Turkey obtain Iraqi crude oil at a lower cost compared to oil prices in global markets.
This discussion represents an important step in the framework of scientific research to understand the impact of international economic and infrastructure projects on regional and economic relations between countries.
This message reached a number of results, the most important of which are:
1- The Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline became the first Iraqi oil pipeline approved and supervised by the Iraqi state alone, without the international monopolistic oil companies having any involvement in it.
2- Thanks to Iraqi oil, which it obtained at preferential prices and lower than the official market, Turkey began to revitalize its oil industry, refine oil through its refineries, and produce oil derivatives and market them to countries, including Iraq.
Brigadier General Ange praised the performance of the discussion committee and expressed his thanks to it for the advice it provided and the rich instructions it provided during the discussion. He also gave it a letter of thanks and appreciation.
