A Scientific Workshop on Environmental Sustainability at the College of Arts

The College of Arts at the University of Kirkuk organized a scientific workshop titled: "Environmental Sustainability in Cities: Strategies for Increasing Green Spaces and Improving the Quality of Life."

The workshop emphasized that urban environmental sustainability is a state of balance that enables urban communities to meet their present needs without depleting natural resources or compromising ecosystems for future generations.

Furthermore, the workshop aimed to highlight the urgent need to transform conventional cities into smart and eco-friendly cities in order to confront the challenges of pollution and climate change, especially as Iraq is among the countries severely affected by climate variations in recent years. It also stressed the importance of raising environmental awareness among younger generations and instilling an eco-conscious culture within them.
