College of Arts Hosts Student Debate on English Comprehension

The English Department at the College of Arts, University of Kirkuk, organized a student debate titled "Dialogue and Thinking: Debate and Comprehension in the English Language" as part of the "Read" (Iqra) initiative.

The debate was held in the presence of the Head of the Department, Lecturer Salam Hussein, and under the supervision of the course instructor, Assistant Lecturer Karwan Othman.

The debate aimed to demonstrate an individual's ability to understand, analyze, and extract meaning from both written and spoken texts—a fundamental component of language learning. It also sought to develop cognitive skills for understanding context and effectively summarizing texts.
