Scientific Research by University of Kirkuk Faculty Member Published in Global Journal

A scientific research paper by Asst. Lect. Iman Mohammed, a faculty member at the College of Arts, University of Kirkuk, has been published in the international journal Solid Earth Sciences, published by Elsevier and indexed in the Scopus and Clarivate databases.

The research highlights the evaluation of hydrocarbon generation potential for source rocks dating back to the Middle Jurassic – Lower Cretaceous period in the Ajil Field, located within the Mesopotamian Foredeep Basin in Northern Iraq. The study was conducted by integrating organic geochemical analyses (TOC and Rock-Eval pyrolysis) and palynofacies studies, in addition to developing a 1D Basin Model.
