 Division of Quality Assurance

     The Division seeks to build an effective quality assurance system in the college, spread a culture of quality and accreditation among all college employees, and establish a culture of self-evaluation, development, and continuous improvement of the college’s performance based on the college’s mission and based on the quality assurance standards that have been adopted in this regard. Due to the importance of the department’s role in the college, it is directly linked to the dean of the college.

Division tasks:

The Division is responsible for the following tasks:

1. Continuing to develop and consolidate the culture of quality and accreditation in the college

2. Drawing up a comprehensive strategy to ensure quality and accreditation in the college, while defining the strategic goals and work programs necessary to develop the college’s performance.

3. Evaluating the performance of the college and its educational programs and doing what is necessary to determine the level of performance and its quality.

4. Follow up on the implementation of the college’s quality assurance and performance evaluation programs and ensure understanding of the mechanisms upon application.

5. Preparation, planning and follow-up aimed at the success of self-evaluation of the college’s performance and its various programmes.

6. Collect the results of the self-evaluation of the college’s performance, analyze them, extract strengths and weaknesses, and present the necessary proposals to develop and improve the college’s performance as a step towards obtaining academic accreditation that enhances the improvement of the educational process in the college.

7. Carrying out direct communication and coordination with the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Department at Kirkuk University to follow up on quality assurance and accreditation processes.

8. Cooperating with the corresponding departments in other colleges in order to increase benefit through exchanging experiences with them.

9. Participation in local and international conferences and seminars.

Issuing publications and bulletins in the field of quality assurance and accreditation The organizational structure of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Division The Quality Assurance and University Performance Division in the College of Education for Pure Sciences consists of the following administrative units

1. Quality assurance unit

2. University performance evaluation unit

3. Laboratory Accreditation Unit Quality Assurance Unit Definition of the unit: The unit seeks to spread a culture of quality and achieve the requirements for obtaining accreditation of both institutional and programmatic types for the college and its various academic programs to enable the college to continue performing its mission and achieving its goals.

Unit tasks:

The unit is specialized in the following tasks:

1. Review and update the college’s strategy, mission, and strategic objectives in light of developments and innovations to develop and modernize higher education.

2. Follow up and implement the college’s plan regarding quality assurance in order for the college to obtain academic accreditation that enhances the quality of the educational process in the college.

3. Instilling awareness among faculty members, students, and all college employees of the importance of implementing the quality assurance and accreditation system and consolidating information related to quality assurance and accreditation mechanisms.

4. Establishing the foundations, rules and procedures for monitoring and periodic follow-up for the implementation of quality assurance and accreditation standards.

5. Proposing university performance standards and quality control for the components of the educational process related to the university professor, curricula, laboratories, college infrastructure, university students, and performance evaluation processes.

6. Propose and establish work procedures, rules and guidelines to develop and improve performance in a way that contributes to ensuring the quality of the college’s performance.

7. Preparing periodic follow-up reports on the unit’s activities and submitting them to the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Division in the college.

8. Any other tasks assigned by the college to enhance the quality assurance of the educational process

University Performance Evaluation Unit Definition of the unit:

The unit seeks to measure the level of the college’s performance to ensure the extent to which it meets the requirements of quality assurance and accreditation, in addition to adopting the college’s self-evaluation in a systematic manner.

Unit tasks:

The unit is specialized in the following tasks:

1. Evaluating the performance in the college and doing what is necessary to determine the level and quality of performance.

2. Create a database for all college activities to enable the possibility of following up on the development of the educational process.

3. Conducting and participating in field studies to match educational outcomes with the needs of the labor market and providing guidance in this regard

4. Ensure that the college’s objectives are achieved by taking appropriate measures to evaluate its programs and outcomes using various measurement tools.

5. Establishing the necessary procedures to implement quality assurance standards, based on which we can confirm the extent to which the college meets quality and accreditation requirements

6. Providing technical advice to the college in the field of developing and implementing performance evaluation and quality assurance systems.

7. Preparing periodic reports on the unit’s activity and submitting them to the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Division at the college.

8. Preparing and planning for follow-up self-evaluation of the college’s various activities and programs and following up on implementation.

9. Collecting the results of self-evaluation studies, analyzing them, explaining their pros and cons, and presenting the necessary proposals to develop and improve their performance.

10. Any other tasks assigned by the college to support the university performance evaluation process.

Laboratory Accreditation Unit:

The laboratory accreditation unit has many goals, tasks and duties that can be summarized as follows:

1. Access in the college laboratories to the approved standard specifications for laboratories.

2. Determine the technical specifications for devices and equipment, encode them, and document their data in coordination with laboratory officials.

3. Follow up on the implementation of calibration programs for devices and equipment with the relevant authorities.

4. Coordination to open programming courses to train laboratory workers according to specializations and in accordance with international specifications and national standards.

5. Monitoring the efficiency of laboratory equipment through examining random samples between different time periods to ensure the quality of laboratory tests.
