Professor Dr. Issa Ibrahim Issa, teaching in the Information Technology Department, participated as a member in the discussion of a doctoral thesis in the College of Computer Science and Mathematics/University of Mosul by student Mahmoud Subhi Mahmoud for his thesis titled (An Intrusion Detection System for cyberspace based on blockchains), Professor Dr. Issa Ibrahim Issa stated that the thesis aimed to build an intrusion detection and classification system on MQTT Broker and that it possesses the following characteristics (Lightweight, scalable, decentralized, low traffic, and trusted) and has the ability to be applied in the environment of lightweight devices such as the Raspberry pi 4B, and that the study concluded that The proposed LIDS-IoT has the ability to detect and classify three out of five attacks on MQT Broker. As a result, the proposed LIDS-IoT technology is one of the technologies that produces superior performance in providing privacy and security services for the Internet of Things environment. The Dean of the College appreciated the teaching efforts for his effective participation in the discussion. The thesis is presented with a certificate of appreciation.
