Software Department

About the Department:

The software department's establishment in the CSIT is an extension of the rapid increase in software and its applications. The department prepares graduates and qualifies them to work in the institutions of the public and private sectors. The department was established in September 2020. The department receives high school graduates in both its biological and applied branches. The department is also moving forward with developing and installing programs in laboratories and feeding them with the latest software and technologies. Consequently, that would provide a suitable environment for teaching for scientific research and the adoption of integrated e-learning techniques.

The Vision:

 The department's vision looks to graduates scientific experts on Software development. Furthermore, provide services to the university and society in the software industry.

The Message:

Prepare qualifiers able to develop and maintain software. Consequently, satisfy the rapid requirements of software implementation in scientific and educational fields.

The Objectives:

• Prepare scientific staff specialized in designing and building software. Develop the student’s capabilities to participate in community service actively. Provide students with the skills to deal with programming problems and enabling them to interact and participate in the necessary training programs.
• Consolidate theoretical and practical concepts and provide students with the necessary scientific expertise to work in building and managing software methods. This can be achieved by preparing them to serve the current and future goals of the department.
• Preparing outstanding students capable of completing their postgraduate studies.
• Consolidate theoretical and practical concepts and provide students with the necessary scientific expertise to work in networks’ types. Additionally, learning methods of building and managing them to serve the department's goals.
• Encouraging scientific research and supporting scientific and practical studies in various fields in network systems.
• Preparing specialized in design, implementation, management and maintenance of networks and their various applications (e.g., the Internet, wired and wireless local networks, mobile phone networks).
• Due to the spread of the Internet applications of the concept of electronic governance, the department prepares teams able to deal with computer networks
• Using and developing e-learning methods and educational tools. Additionally, paying attention to educational resources and technology and adopting the latest references and laboratory equipment.
• Helping individuals and institutions achieve their desired goals by providing adequate information on technological solutions and how to apply them optimally.
• Graduated students have the ability to manage IT resources for individuals and organizations.
• Continuous follow-up of developments in IT and apply them (updates) to the concerned individuals and institutions.

Certificates Granted by the Department:

According to the curriculum, the study includes four full academic years consisting of theoretical and practical lessons. The student acquires the latest sciences, experiences, and skills in software development. After completing the requirements, the graduate student is awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Programming.
