Computer Science Department

About the Department:

Computer Science (CS) department was established in October 2017 as one of CSIT's departments at the University of Kirkuk. Since its establishment, the department is developing the academic, technical, and administrative staff's capabilities. In parallel with resource development, the CS always establishes new laboratories with the latest scientific equipment and continuously updates the curriculum. The department uses modern learning methods to graduate highly qualified and competent staff in computer science.

 The department's vision looks forward to satisfying the rapid developments in computer science and its applications in scientific and educational fields.

The message of the CS is preparing highly qualified students and keeping up with global development.

The Objectives:

• The department aims to provide scientific institutions, companies, and the private sector with technical staff (hold BSc in computer science) deals with information and data.
• Preparing outstanding students in the first step of completing their postgraduate studies.
• Preparing students typically.
• Using advanced types of education to properly deliver information and keep it in line with technological development.
• Preparing qualified academic staff.
• Holding many software training courses for developing the capabilities and qualifications of the teaching staff.
• Keeping up with the latest computer science curriculum.
• Enabling the student to build computer programs.
• Developing a teaching plan for the staff to achieve the desired goals.

Certificates Granted by the Department:

According to the curriculum, the study includes four full academic years consisting of theoretical and practical lessons. The student acquires the latest sciences, experiences, and skills in the computer science field. After completing the requirements, the graduate student is awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science.
