Kirkuk University launches a major campaign to plant trees in the university's corridors, courtyards, and colleges.

Under the supervision of the President of Kirkuk University, Professor Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, the university launched a major campaign to plant a variety of trees in its corridors, courtyards, and colleges, and to distribute informational and awareness-raising materials about the importance of afforestation and increasing green spaces. Esraa Ali Hussein, head of the university's afforestation unit, explained that "the campaign included extensive tree planting and maintenance of gardens and green spaces inside and outside the colleges, as well as workshops and the distribution of informational posters about the importance of increasing green spaces, preserving a healthy environment, and contributing to raising community awareness and promoting a culture of tree planting." It is worth noting that the Ministry of Higher Education designated March 12th as "National Tree Planting Day," coinciding with the initiative to plant five million trees and palms launched by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia'a Al-Sudani to combat desertification.
