Examination Instructions No. (134) for the year 2000, including the amendments:

Article (1):

These instructions apply to universities, the Technical Institutes Authority, colleges and institutes affiliated to each of them.
 Article (2):
First: The College Council or the Council of the Institute shall determine upon a proposal from the Council of the department or branch in the college in which there are no departments, the number of examination of the quest, their type, how to conduct them and calculate their percentages, provided that the degree of pursuit is not less than (30%) thirty percent and not more than (50%) fifty percent of the final degree, except for topics of a practical and applied nature, so it is left to determine their percentages to the University Council or the Council of the Technical Institutes Authority.
Second: The final exams in the grades ending the faculties of medicine include some of the topics determined by the College Council and the annual pursuit of the subjects of the sixth grade in the medical colleges is calculated by (20%) twenty percent of the final degree.
 ARTICLE (3):
          First: The final exam for the quarterly or annual rounds of the first and second rounds shall be confidential in all subjects.

          Second: The semester or annual exam includes the vocabulary of the topics scheduled during the semester or year, provided that the duration of study for the semester lessons is not less than (15) fifteen weeks, and the annual lessons are not less than (30) thirty weeks, and the days of final exams and school holidays are not included in that.

 Article (4): The faculty member is committed to programming the vocabulary of the subjects he studies with the distribution of grades on the annual quest and the final exam and announces this at the beginning of the academic year and the announcement of the grades of the annual pursuit of students no less than five days before the start of the final exams through the department after the approval of the head of the department or the head of the branch in colleges where there is no oath and the student has the right to object to the degree or correct the error during the mentioned period.
Article (5): The College or Institute Council shall be formed, upon the proposal of the Dean, one or more permanent committees to administer examinations during the academic year.
Article (6): The minimum passing score shall be (50%) fifty percent for each subject.
Article (7): Every two semester subjects in colleges that adopt the semester system are counted as one subject annually, unless the number of hours of the semester subject is equal to the minimum number of study hours for one subject during the academic year.

ARTICLE (8):
First: The student who fails half of the subjects (the fraction is forced in the case of the number of individual subjects in favor of the student) or less in the first round exams is allowed to perform the second round exams in the subjects in which he failed. Unlike him, he is considered a failure in the first round, except for students of the finished class in the Faculty of Medicine. Subject to the provisions of Article (20) of these Instructions.
Second: If the student is considered a failure in any of the first or second rounds, he repeats the year as a permanence and an exam in the subjects in which he failed, as well as the subjects in which he obtained an acceptable grade.
Third: The failing student is exempted from the deleted topics and demands the topics created in his class when changing the curriculum, provided that this does not lead to his transfer to a higher grade or his graduation unless it is not required for a subject, taking into account the provisions of item (second) of this article.

Fourth: In the event that the student succeeds in all subjects in the academic stage in which he is and fails in some of the subjects loaded with it from the lower grade, he succeeds to the upper grade and remains loaded with the subjects in which he failed and he must succeed in the following year even if he succeeds in the subjects of the higher grade.


Article (9):

The student is considered a failure in any subject if his absences exceed (10%) ten percent of the hours prescribed for that subject without a legitimate excuse or (15%) fifteen percent with a legitimate excuse approved by the College Council or the Institute.


Article (10):

The student may participate in the second round exams if his non-participation in the first round exams is a legitimate excuse approved by the College Council or the Institute, provided that this is supported by official documents and in one of the following cases:
First: sudden illness.
Second: The death of one of his first-degree relatives.
Third: Vehicular accidents.
Fourth: Sudden arrest

Article (11):

Subjects of a practical or applied nature that do not have a final exam are excluded from taking the second round exam, and this is determined by the College Council or the Institute at the beginning of the year and announced to students.


Article (12):

It is not permissible to postpone the second round exam in any way.


Article (13):

(10) ten degrees are reduced from the final grade of the subject in which the student succeeded in the second round when calculating the average, except for the successful with an acceptable degree, so his grade is (50%) fifty percent in that subject.


Article (14):

The Department Council prepares the final results and submits them with its recommendations to the College or Institute Council for approval and announcement, except for the finished grades, so the President of the University or the President of the Technical Institutes Authority is approved by them.


ARTICLE (15):
First: The student's average is calculated on the basis of the grades obtained in each subject, taking into account the number of units for each subject.
Second: The unit is considered a theoretical hour effort per week and for a period of (15) fifteen weeks.
Third: equivalent to every two hours of operation in colleges one theoretical hour and every three hours of operation equivalent to an hour and a half hours in the institute

ARTICLE (16):
First: The graduation rank of the student is calculated according to the following:
A – For the two-year study, where the percentages of years to calculate the graduation rank are as follows:
First year 40% Forty percent
Second year 60% sixty percent
B – In studies of (4) years, the distribution of the percentages of the years is as follows:
First year 10% tenths of a percent
Second year 20% twenty percent
Third Year 30% Thirty percent
Fourth year 40% Forty percent
C - In studies for a period of (5) years, the distribution of the percentages of years is as follows:
First year 5% five percent
Second year 10% ten percent
Third year 15% fifteen percent
Fourth year 30% Thirty percent
Fifth year 40% Forty percent

D - In studies of (6) years, the distribution of the percentages of years is as follows:
First year 5% five percent
Second year 5% five percent
Third Year 5% Five percent
Fourth year 20% Twenty percent
Fifth year 25% twenty-five percent
Sixth year 40% Forty percent
Second: The graduation rate is calculated by multiplying the student's average in each year by the percentage indicated about that, and the total for the academic years is the student's graduation rate.
Third: The rank of success is calculated for the student who is accepted in a grade higher than the first grade (such as the first graduates of institutes admitted to the second grade or in cases of transfer from outside the country and others) for the years he studied only and with the same percentages determined above for each stage recalculated to (100%).

ARTICLE (17):
First: The results are announced with the following grades to determine the level of the student among the successful in terms of grades:
Excellence – corresponding to degrees – 90 ninety – 100 hundred
Very good " – corresponding to degrees – 80 eighty – less than ninety
Good – corresponding to grades – 70 seventy – less than eighty
Medium – corresponding to degrees – 60 sixty – less than seventy
Acceptable – Corresponding to grades – 50 fifty – less than sixty
Fail – corresponding to degrees – 49 forty-nine and below
Second: Fractions of the degree are forced to a correct degree if they are half or more for one subject.
Third: It is not permissible to redress fractions of the degree to a correct degree in relation to the average.

ARTICLE (18):
First: The University Council or the Board of the Authority, based on the recommendation of the College Council or the Institute, may calculate a year of non-failure for the student who failed in the subjects in which he did not participate in the second round in the second year in the event that he submits a "medical" report certified by a specialized committee in the Ministry of Health due to a reason beyond his control or for force majeure in the examination period convinced by the College Council or the Institute.
Second: The University Council or the Board of the Authority, based on the recommendation of the College Council or the Institute, may allow the student who failed in the year ending for two consecutive years and failed in the second year with one annual subject or two semester subjects to take the exam in the third year, provided that his position on military service is sound and he has not spent the period allowed for his stay in the college or institute.
Third: The Minister for legitimate reasons convinced by the calculation of a year of non-failure for the student who failed two consecutive years, provided that his position is sound "from military service and has not spent the period allowed for his stay in the college or institute.

Article (19):

The student's relationship with the college or institute ends in one of the following two cases:
First: If he fails two consecutive years in his class.
Second: If the student exceeds the prescribed period of study in his specialization and half of this period including the years of failure, and the years of postponement and non-failure are not counted among that.


ARTICLE (19-bis):
First" -

A: Students accept their restrictions from morning studies in colleges and institutes with a different specialization and lower admission limits in the average for that year than the colleges and institutes in which their enrollments were graded and according to their choice. The Ministry shall distribute them among colleges and institutes according to a special form prepared for this purpose. Provided that their number does not exceed (10%) ten percent of the admission plan in the college or institute, and this number is added to the admission plan determined annually, and students are enrolled starting from the first grades, and the college or institute council exempts them from some subjects.
B: In the case of numbering the registration of students covered by the provisions of paragraph (a) of this item, their entries shall be permanently numbered from the records of the morning colleges.

Second" -

A: Students accepted their restrictions in the first and second grades in colleges / morning studies in the first grade in the specialization corresponding to or close to the specialization of each of them in one of the institutes of the Technical Education Authority / morning or evening studies.
B: Students with registration in the third grades and above in colleges / morning studies in the second grade in the corresponding or close specialization to each of them in one of the institutes of the Technical Education Authority / morning or evening studies are accepted.
C:The provisions of paragraphs (a) and (b) of this item shall apply to students whose enrollments in colleges / evening studies are registered for admission to one of the institutes of the Evening Technical Education Authority.
D: Students whose enrollments in technical institutes in morning studies from graduates of vocational schools are returned to the same classes and specializations in evening studies.

Third: Students in the sixth grade of medical schools are given the opportunity to take the exam in two roles only.
Fourth: The provisions of items (first), (second) and (third) of this article are independent options that students with their restrictions may not combine.
Fifth: The provisions of this article do not include students whose admission to colleges and institutes was with their own distinction (the top ten and distinguished institutes and the top five in the country in vocational preparatory schools).
Sixth: Whoever is covered by the provisions of this article must have terminated military service, been exempted from it, paid the cash allowance therefor or postponed from it for non-academic reasons.

Article (20):

If the student is proven cheating or proven to have tried to cheat in any of the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or final exams, he is considered a failure in all subjects for that year, and if this is repeated, he is dismissed from the college or institute and his registration is numbered from its records.
ARTICLE (21):
First: The student may postpone his studies for one year for legitimate reasons convinced by the College Council or the Institute, provided that the request for postponement is submitted at least thirty days before the beginning of the final exam.
Second: The President of the University or the President of the Commission, based on the recommendation of the College Council or the Institute, may postpone the student's study for a second year and for legitimate reasons that he is convinced of, provided that the request for postponement is submitted at least thirty days before the beginning of the final exam.
Third: It is not permissible to postpone the student's study in colleges or institutes that follow the semester system in the second semester unless it is due beyond his control and to be successful in the first semester, and in this case the postponement is considered for the entire academic year.
Fourth: The Minister or his authorized university presidents or the Commission based on a recommendation from the University Council or the Technical institutes, for legitimate reasons, are convinced to postpone the student's study for a third year, taking into account the provisions of Article (19) of these instructions.
Article (22):

Examination instructions No. 7 of 1989 shall be canceled.


Article (23):

These instructions shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall be effective from the academic year 2000-2001.
